Musa and Friends go to Masjid

I was super excited for the new series of board books from @zanib Mian and Muslim Children's Books. Honestly, everything I have ever read from this publishing company and from this author has always been superb. ⠀ ⠀ Something positive that I noticed first off was that this book was super cheap (around 8 usd). Most board books run around 15 to 20 dollars.⠀ ⠀ However, if I am going to be totally honest, I was a little disappointed with this book. My toddler immediately grabbed it and put it in her mouth and slobbered over it. And you can see how the water immediately stained the book pages. ⠀ ⠀ Another disappointment was the content. There was nothing new or unique about this book. Maybe I am so used to reading fun books by this author that I got so let down, but it seemed like a very average book with very little information on the topic it was about. ⠀ ⠀ The pictures were kind of creepy with the characters big eyes (at least to me), and Musa was with family and a “pet” and not his friends...

That being said, the colors are very bright, and my toddler did enjoy having it read to her. It was a good length for her age and her short attention span. ⠀ All in all, if you are looking for a cheap Eid gift, this book is probably it. It is good for reading to young children, though it might not withstand too much handling. And it does have a cute Islamic message for kids, which is always a plus.

I sincerely hope the next batch of Musa and Friends board books are improved! I am used to always loving everything by @zanibmian
