It's Ramadan, Curious George

Another amazing Ramadan Board Book( this one is published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt ).⠀

“It’s Ramadan, Curious George” is perfect for toddlers and pre-schoolers (while also enjoyable to older children!)⠀ ⠀ The first thing I really liked about this book is that it includes a mainstream popular American character that children absolutely love: Curious George.

Hena Khan does an amazing job of bringing Curious George ‘s usual goofiness and funny antics to this book about Ramadan, and the man in the yellow hat gets a yellow “fez” at some point, which really makes it a fun blend of Islamic and American tradition. ⠀ ⠀ The book is a board book with tabs, which makes it interesting for the kids, since it makes it easy for them to understand the theme of each page and flip through them. The shimmer of the sky on the front cover and the “curious george” font caught the attention of my children and made them want to read the book immediately on seeing it! ⠀ The book is written in beautiful rhyme and teaches children about all the fun concepts of Ramadan, like baking and fasting, going to the masjid, and even getting ready for Eid with presents!⠀ ⠀ I really like how Kareem, the boy in the book, is trying his very first fasting day ever. It makes the book more exciting and it feels like a big accomplishment when the kids read how he successfully passes the time until iftar, (with curious george’s help😉).⠀ ⠀ This book is a wonderful Ramadan story and a staple for every household!
