Lunar Learners: Adam and God's Creation
This is one of a set of three Lunar Learners books about the Prophet, and I have to say that I was absolutely blown away with how good it was! The text has rhythm and rhyme, and it is short and engaging enough to be finished in one sitting for the kids. It is a perfect bedtime story.⠀ ⠀ The illustrations are beautiful and quirky, and the animal comments had my kids laughing and engaging with the text.⠀ ⠀ The story talks about Prophet Adam (as) and how Hawa (as) and him came down to Earth from heaven because of the mistake of listening to Iblis. (I actually like that the name Iblis was used instead of Shaytan- that is his correct actual name, and he is the king of the Shaytans)⠀ ⠀ The animals are taught by a cute wise old owl, and they all are defined early on in the text with the sounds they make. I liked that idea of introducing the animals, as I felt that it tied into the story of Adam being the one who was taught by Allah of the name of all the creatures. ⠀ ⠀ The important lessons of us being all created equal in God’s eyes, us each being unique, not listening to shaytans, doing our best in this dunya, and working together as an ummah were all taught beautifully and with absolutely no preachiness.⠀ ⠀ I would absolutely recommend this book for kids ages 3 and up!⠀ ⠀ Get yours from Crescent Moon Store
